We are the Gamma Omega chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta and I’m so proud to be this year’s chapter President. Take a look around at our page and see what makes us the ladies of Gamma O!
Going through college with this support system has truly been the biggest blessing I could have ever prayed for, but I’ve come to learn that the best things in life happen when you least expect them. Alpha Gam was truly the most unexpected experience that has changed me forever.
I had an important decision to make when deciding to come to UAB. Besides choosing what career path to take, I knew I needed a way to meet people and the desire to form lifelong friendships. So, when I learned about Greek Life at UAB, I had a lot of questions! No one in my family had ever been in a sorority and very few from my hometown. Going through sorority recruitment seemed like the last option for me considering all those things. But I decided to sign up despite the weight I was bearing from nerves and fear.
Going to college is a new and exciting experience. Although sorority recruitment can be daunting, had I not taking that leap of faith, I would have never met the amazing women that have impacted my life in such a positive way. I was so scared that I would not find somewhere I belonged. I found much more than I could have ever dreamed of. Women to go to church with, to laugh with, to cry with, and truly my best friends. But that is only a portion of what this chapter has brought me. Alpha Gam has given me experience to lead, learn and grow and I know wherever I end up after college, it couldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for these incredible women. Being an Alpha Gam has shaped me into someone I am proud to be.
Each and every lady in this chapter has a role. Even if you do not hold an officer position, you make an impact. From academics, to campus relations, to social events, to philanthropy, everyone has a role and place in our chapter.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you got a little glimpse of why this chapter is so special to me.
